Chaplaincy Services at Taqwa
Our current school Chaplain is Imam Nourredine Laraibi, who has over 20 years of experience working in schools in Australia. The Chaplain plays an integral role in the overall spiritual, pastoral and educational needs of our entire school community. Prayer and Qu’ran recitation is led by the School Chaplain each day in the Musallah. Students are also afforded the opportunity of leading prayer, whilst being guided by the Chaplain.
The chaplaincy program offers:
- Spiritual and emotional support for all students, staff and community members, irrespective of faith
- Educational support for staff in integrating Islamic values and principles through the curriculum
- Support to our students on an informal basis, often during recess times and lunch breaks
- Support and encouragement as our students develop intellectually, emotionally, physically and spiritually
All Chaplain activities are subject to approval from the Principal. The Chaplain works closely with the School Management Team and teachers to assist wherever possible and appropriate with students.
